FOR DOSA
Rosematta rice-1 cup
coconut shredded- 1/2 cup
salt
FOR THE SWEET MIXTURE
coconut-3/4 cup
jaggery - 1/4 cup (more if u like it sweeter)
cashew nuts-2 tbsp(optional)
cardamam pdr-1 tsp
METHOD
Soak rice for 4-5 hrs.Then grind the rice and coconut separately and combine together in a bowl.Add enough water to make it into a spreadable consistency.Add salt to taste and let it stand for 1 hr.

What is the equivalent of rosematta rice in U.S?
hi radha..an equivalent of rosematta rice u can try using par-boiled rice or brown basmathi rice.its available in any superstore in US but the flavor of rosematta rice makes this dish special.See if its available in the indian stores near ur place bcoz most indian stores has matta rice.I have used only matta rice for this so dont know how its gonna taste with any other rice.
hi ranji very nice and simple recipe but i have one querry. doent dosa batter get sticky without urad dal? please let me know because i accidently bought rosematta rice and i am using it up for my idly with idly rice. but i can use very little each time because if i use rosematta more it idlis get more sticky. ashwini
